Our Artwork at Thomastown Station
On Wednesday the 16th of November our school enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at Thomastown Railway Station where we got to see the unveiling of our piece of community art. This adds a colourful and exciting element to the entrance of the new station. Artist Matthew Johnson, the Mayor of Whittlesea and other honoured guests were present. Your children are very proud of their work and we would encourage everyone to have a look at it.
NEW BUILDING OFFICIALLY OPENED
On Wednesday the 9th November, Thomastown Primary School celebrated the official opening of our new building. Mr. Harry Jenkins, Speaker of the Federal Lower House and member of Scullin, opened the building on behalf of the Federal Government. Mr. Robert Brookes (Regional Network Leader), Kerryn Holland (School Council President) and other School Council Members were also present. Students presented a speech about the history of Thomastown Primary School, along with visual displays of the school past and present. All were then treated to a performance from the school choir singing “Peace by Piece”, followed by a speech by Mr. Harry Jenkins, the unveiling of the plaque and cutting of the celebratory cake. This event signalled the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in Thomastown Primary School’s already rich and eventful life.
